Precision Slitting of TC4 Titanium Coil at Daming Jiangsu

Daming International is processing a customized batch of 2.5mm TC4 titanium alloy coils for a domestic customer in its slitting workshop.

The TC4 material presents high processing difficulty. It features high tensile and yield strength, making it prone to cracking during shearing. Internal stress in the coil must be fully relieved during slitting to maintain dimensional stability. In addition, limited market availability of this specification increases dependency on precision processing rather than standard stock materials.

During slitting, process parameters were adjusted to control cutting stability and stress release. In-process inspection was applied to monitor edge quality and dimensional consistency. Conventional rebound deformation issues associated with titanium coil cutting were mitigated through controlled processing conditions.

The finished flat products met customer requirements for dimensional tolerance and edge condition.
