On December 24, a senior delegation from Daming International visited Wuhu Shipyard Co., Ltd., marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in shipbuilding and marine equipment manufacturing. The visit focused on exploring opportunities for deeper strategic partnership, supply chain synergy, and technology-driven development.

The Daming delegation was led by Chairman Zhou Keming and included President Liang Zongren, Group Technical Director Wang Xiaojian, General Manager of Jingjiang Daming Deng Liangfeng, Marketing Director of Daming Heavy Industry Wang Qingwei, and Deputy General Manager of Jingjiang Daming Yuan Kang. They were warmly received by Li Hai, Deputy General Manager of Wuhu Shipyard, along with Pei Dong, Director of Manufacturing Management, Ma Xuefeng, Director of the Process and Method Department, and Pan Zhongqi, Director of Category Procurement.
Accompanied by Wuhu Shipyard’s management team, the delegation toured the shipyard’s production facilities, including the outfitting wharf, fabrication workshops, and plate processing units. They observed advanced welding automation, modular assembly lines, and quality inspection processes, gaining a first-hand understanding of the shipyard’s production capabilities, operational efficiency, and innovation in high-end vessel construction.
During the discussion session, Li Hai shared insights into Wuhu Shipyard’s operations, highlighting its role in supporting China’s national marine strategy and its leadership in high-end shipbuilding and marine equipment manufacturing. He emphasized Wuhu Shipyard’s extensive experience in constructing chemical tankers, LNG carriers, and other specialized vessels, and stressed the shipyard’s commitment to precision engineering, material optimization, and adherence to international classification standards. Li Hai noted that Daming International’s expertise in steel processing and industrial manufacturing could complement Wuhu Shipyard’s capabilities, particularly in sourcing high-quality steel plates, deep plate processing, and innovative material solutions.

Chairman Zhou Keming highlighted Daming Group’s multi-base industrial layout, technological innovation, and logistics strengths. He explained how Daming’s integrated service model—including steel plate procurement, pre-fabrication, and specialized processing—can enhance efficiency and reduce costs for shipbuilding projects. Zhou also underscored Daming’s track record in providing steel and heavy equipment solutions to the shipbuilding sector, emphasizing the group’s commitment to quality, precision, and timely delivery.
Both sides discussed broader industry trends, including the growing demand for green and energy-efficient vessels, the shift toward high-strength carbon steel and advanced alloys, and innovations in modular shipbuilding that reduce lead times and optimize production workflows. They reviewed past cooperation successes and explored future opportunities in joint R&D, supply chain optimization, and application of classification society-certified carbon steel flat plates as alternatives to traditional single-sheet rolled plates.
The discussions also focused on strengthening supply chain resilience, improving material traceability, and leveraging digital tools for design, production, and quality management. Both parties recognized that deeper collaboration could accelerate technological innovation, expand production capabilities, and support the ongoing modernization of China’s shipbuilding industry.

By the end of the visit, both sides had reached a consensus on deepening strategic cooperation. They expressed their commitment to leveraging complementary strengths—Daming International’s steel processing and manufacturing expertise and Wuhu Shipyard’s shipbuilding capabilities—to jointly advance China’s ambition of becoming a global maritime power.
The visit underscored a shared vision: to drive innovation, enhance production efficiency, and contribute to high-quality development in the shipbuilding and marine equipment sector, while building a long-term partnership that strengthens competitiveness in the domestic and global markets.
