Daming Delivers 700m³ Marine LNG Fuel Tanks

Daming has delivered its 700 cubic meter marine LNG fuel tanks, developed for an LNG carrier propulsion system project, firstly approved by a domestic domestic classification society. This achievement marks an important step forward for Daming as it continues to expand into the high-end marine engineering market.

More than just a single project delivery, this milestone highlights Daming’s growing ability to provide fully integrated solutions across the heavy industry value chain—from raw materials and precision processing to equipment manufacturing and large-scale logistics. It also lays a solid foundation for the company’s future participation in the global marine engineering supply market.

LNG fuel tanks, along with their thermal control systems (TCS), are among the most critical components on marine engineering vessels. They must meet strict requirements for structural strength, thermal insulation, pressure retention, and system stability—all of which are essential to safe and reliable ship operation. Adding to the complexity, this project used nine-nickel steel—often called the “diamond of steel”—which demands exceptionally high standards in both material purity and welding precision.

To meet these challenges, Daming’s energy equipment team worked closely with clients and industry partners throughout the project. The company coordinated with leading domestic steel producers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality nickel steel, while also refining welding and machining processes to meet the demanding conditions of offshore applications.

Sustainability was also a key focus. Daming incorporated energy-efficient technologies and optimized production processes to reduce environmental impact while maintaining high performance standards. Every stage of manufacturing followed the rigorous requirements of international shipbuilding standards, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.

On the logistics side, the project presented additional challenges, including tight timelines, overlapping schedules, and the transportation of oversized equipment. Daming addressed these by leveraging the combined strengths of its Jingjiang production base and Yangtze River port facilities. With round-the-clock production coordination, precise heavy-lift operations, and efficient barge transport, the company ensured a smooth and reliable delivery process.

By enabling direct, “point-to-point” shipment from manufacturing to final destination, Daming minimized handling risks, eliminated unnecessary warehousing, and significantly reduced delivery time. This ensured the safe and efficient loading of the LNG fuel tanks for deployment.

This successful delivery not only demonstrates Daming Manufacturing’s technical expertise and operational efficiency, but also reinforces its position as a strong contender in the global high-end marine engineering sector.
