Wuxi Daming Stainless Steel Surpasses 10,000 Tons in Monthly Production

In December 2025, Wuxi Daming, one of China’s 11 steel processing centers, reached a major milestone of stainless steel products. Output from its Cut-to-Length Workshop exceeded 10,000 tons for the first time, totaling nearly 10,600 tons. This represents a month-on-month increase of more than 34% and a year-on-year surge of over 283%, setting a new company record.

This achievement reflects Wuxi Daming’s practical, hands-on management approach and strong cross-department collaboration. It also marks a new phase in the company’s capacity growth and market expansion.

More Than a Number

Reaching the 10,000-ton mark is widely recognized as a key benchmark for stainless steel processing operations. “This is not just about output,” said Wan Ling, General Manager of Wuxi Daming. “It shows our team’s execution ability, how quickly we respond to the market, and how well different departments work together.”

He noted that the milestone was driven by a more balanced order structure, ongoing efficiency improvements, and continued development of market channels.

Management Moves to the Front Line

During the critical period of capacity expansion, Zhang Jue, Head of the Production Technology Department, made the decision to relocate his office directly to the workshop. Together with the production management team, he formed a frontline task group to coordinate production, monitor quality, and support equipment operations on site.

“In the final week of December, several large orders had to be delivered at the same time,” Zhang explained. “Machines were running non-stop and staffing was tight. Real problems can’t be solved from a desk—we had to be on the shop floor, listening to the machines and working with operators to improve efficiency.”

Strong Collaboration Drives Results

As the stainless steel industry faces challenges such as raw material price fluctuations and shifting demand, flexibility and speed have become essential. Managers from production, technology, safety, environmental protection, and quality control all worked closely on the front line. This hands-on coordination helped resolve bottlenecks quickly, shortened decision-making cycles, and boosted team morale.

Many employees said that seeing management work alongside them created a strong sense of shared purpose and motivation, especially during periods of intense overtime.

Capturing Opportunities in Emerging Markets

Despite broader market pressure, Wuxi Daming actively pursued growth opportunities in new energy and high-end equipment manufacturing. “We adjusted our product mix to match market demand,” said Sales Manager Shi Minfeng. As a result, sales of high-strength stainless steel used in lithium battery and high-end manufacturing applications increased by 40%.

Late at night, finished stainless steel products continued to roll out of the workshop, ready for shipment. These products will be used in modern buildings, new energy equipment, and precision machinery—showcasing the strength and reliability of Daming’s manufacturing capabilities.

From Breakthrough to Sustainable Growth

“The 10,000-ton milestone confirms our production potential and, more importantly, validates an efficient production management model,” Zhang Jue said. Going forward, the company plans to formalize its decentralized management approach, with management teams spending fixed time each month in workshops to ensure frontline insights are reflected in decisions.

Wuxi Daming is already preparing for its next stage of growth. Two new production lines are currently under construction and installation. “Surpassing 10,000 tons is only the beginning,” said Wan Ling. “Our goal is to make this a stable production level and build on it by expanding into higher value-added products, strengthening our brand in stainless steel leveling, slitting, and precision processing.”
