Daming Strengthens Presence in Australian Mining Sector Through Strategic Research Visit

Daming International has reinforced its long-term commitment to the Australian mining market through a week-long strategic research visit to Western Australia. The initiative, led by Chairman Zhou Keming, underscores the company’s dedication to deepening cooperation with leading global mining enterprises and advancing its integrated industrial solutions in the region.

From May 6 to 12, Chairman Zhou, accompanied by General Manager Wang Xi and Sales Director Ren Lei, engaged in an intensive market research program in Perth, a global hub for mining operations. The visit allowed the delegation to gain firsthand insights into the operational demands and future technology expectations of some of the world’s most prominent mining companies.

Engaging with Industry Leaders and Advanced Operations

During the visit, the Daming delegation toured BHP’s flagship iron ore operations, including the South Flank and Mining Area C projects. These sites, which are among the largest and most technologically advanced mining operations globally, have a combined production capacity of up to 145 million tons of iron ore annually, supported by investments exceeding US$3.6 billion.

At BHP, the team observed frontline operational processes, including maintenance procedures for large-scale mining equipment, installation and replacement of mining truck dump bodies, and the logistics of mobile equipment workshops. These observations provided valuable insights into practical operational challenges and highlighted areas where Daming’s engineering and manufacturing expertise could deliver tangible benefits.

A significant milestone was celebrated during the visit: the first batch of mining truck dump bodies supplied by Daming has been successfully installed and commissioned on BHP vehicles, reflecting the growing trust and collaboration between the two companies.

In addition to BHP, the delegation engaged with other global mining leaders, including Fortescue Metals Group and Rio Tinto, at their Perth offices. These discussions focused on advanced industrial planning, intelligent operations, and ESG-driven low-carbon development practices, providing Daming with a broader perspective on industry best practices and sustainability initiatives.

Exploring Collaboration and Localized Solutions

Beyond site visits, Daming conducted meetings with Australian engineering design and technical service firms, gathering market intelligence to support its future localization strategies. The discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in mining truck dump bodies, excavator buckets, engineering design, professional manufacturing, and tailored after-sales services for the Australian market.

Chairman Zhou emphasized the strategic importance of this engagement, stating, “Australia offers a mature mining ecosystem and tremendous long-term potential. This visit enabled us to understand the practical needs of our clients operating at the forefront of mining production. By leveraging Daming’s strengths in raw material supply, integrated manufacturing, and logistics support, we are committed to expanding our investment and development efforts in this region.”

By combining innovation, operational insight, and localized support, the company aims to create long-term value for its clients and contribute to the sustainable development of mining operations in Australia.
