Jingjiang Daming, one of Daming International’ eleven advanced processing centers, recently completed a highly customized steel prefabrication project for a major chemical industry client — on time, to spec, and with excellence.

Behind the Project: Big Challenges, Bigger Collaboration
The request was formidable from the start: roughly 500 tons of Q245R pressure vessel-grade steel plates, in non-standard, oversized dimensions — widths up to 3,000mm, lengths up to 13,600mm, and thicknesses from 10mm to 28mm. On top of that, the client required materials from a specified steel mill, along with strict technical parameters and a tight delivery schedule.

In pressure vessel manufacturing, material choice is critical. The Q245R steel used in this project is known for its high strength, temperature tolerance, and weldability — essential qualities for components that will be subjected to extreme working conditions.
But when steel plates come in unusual sizes, the margin for error narrows. Every detail — from thickness tolerance to surface flatness and bevel accuracy — must be just right. That’s where Jingjiang Daming’s prefabrication capabilities made the difference.
Thanks to years of experience and strong relationships with major domestic steel mills, the procurement team secured custom rolling to match the exact specifications. This not only ensured technical compliance but also minimized waste — saving the client both time and money.
Craftsmanship Meets Technology
Once the materials arrived, it was time for the real craftsmanship to begin.
With the help of a Linsinger fully automatic beveling machine, the team quickly and precisely prepared each steel plate for welding. Unlike manual methods, this equipment offers fast, repeatable, and clean bevels — reducing turnaround time while boosting weld quality.
Still, technology alone wasn’t enough. Every plate went through strict quality checks, including surface inspections, dimensional verification, and where needed, non-destructive testing. “We know these materials are going into critical applications,” explained a quality supervisor. “We check everything. Twice, if we need to.”
The result? A flawless batch of prefabricated components, delivered on time — and praised by the client for both quality and professionalism.
