A customized manufacturing solution was developed for large-diameter N06601 nickel alloy cylinders, addressing requirements for crack control, dimensional accuracy, and surface integrity under heavy-wall forming conditions (20 mm thickness).

N06601 is a high-temperature nickel-based alloy with oxidation resistance up to 1250°C. The forming process presents challenges including high deformation stress, cracking sensitivity, and strict surface quality control.
To address these requirements, Hubei Daming implemented an integrated process system covering three core areas:
Deformation Control Strategy
A segmented forming process replaced conventional single-pass heavy deformation rolling, enabling controlled strain distribution and improved roundness stability.

Tooling System Design
Customized high-wear-resistant rolling tooling was developed for high-hardness material processing. Surface protection measures were applied to maintain consistent surface quality during forming.
Post-Weld Stress Control System
Low-heat input welding was combined with post-weld calibration and stress-relief treatment to reduce residual stress and ensure long-term dimensional stability.
The project expands Hubei Daming’s capability in nickel-based alloy forming and high-performance cylinder fabrication for advanced industrial applications.
