Shandong Daming Introduces Modular Bottom Die System for Plate Leveling Operations

Recently, the process engineering team and workshop at Shandong Daming developed and implemented a modular bending-leveling bottom die system. After multiple rounds of trials and optimization, the system was put into production, addressing long-standing flatness issues in plate leveling while improving process efficiency and product stability.

Background: leveling capacity constraint
For a batch of orders with strict flatness requirements, a 2000T press brake die was previously used for leveling. A 2-meter plate required repeated die changes and manual hammering, with processing time reaching up to four hours per cycle. This resulted in high labor demand and low utilization of bending equipment.

Solution: modular bottom die system
To address surface defects, die deformation, limited adaptability, and complex changeover procedures, a modular bottom die system was introduced. The structure provides high rigidity, uniform load distribution, and compatibility with multiple plate specifications. It is directly applicable to existing equipment without system modification, enabling on-site deployment.

Results：higher efficiency and stable precision
After durability testing, the system maintained leveling accuracy within 1 mm per 1000 mm and demonstrated extended service life. Processing efficiency in the leveling stage increased, and press brake equipment capacity was released.
