Daming Delivers First Batch of Cargo Hold Sections for 13,800 DWT Chemical Tanker Project

Daming Light Industry, a subsidiary of Daming Heavy Industry Group, has successfully delivered the first batch of cargo hold sections for the 13,800 DWT chemical tanker project built by Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding. The completed sections were transported from Daming’s Yangtze River terminal, marking an important step forward in the ongoing cooperation between the two companies.

The delivered components include bottom and side shell sections of the cargo hold area, where strict requirements are applied to welding quality, dimensional accuracy, deformation control, and surface protection. To meet these requirements, Daming Light Industry managed the entire manufacturing process through a comprehensive quality control system, covering material inspection, production planning, fabrication, and final delivery.

For stainless steel chemical tankers, cargo hold sections are among the most critical structural components. Their manufacturing quality directly affects vessel safety, especially when transporting chemical products that require high levels of corrosion resistance and structural reliability.

To support Xinjiangzhou Shipbuilding’s construction schedule, Daming leveraged its integrated ship section manufacturing capabilities and completed the full production process in-house, including steel plate and profile preprocessing, CNC cutting, edge preparation, sub-assembly welding, section assembly, and pre-outfitting.

Compared with suppliers that focus on individual fabrication steps, Daming provides an end-to-end manufacturing solution, delivering ship sections directly from raw materials to completed assembly status. This integrated approach helps reduce process coordination requirements, improve construction efficiency, and optimize resource utilization for shipyards.

Daming also combined its manufacturing facilities with its dedicated Yangtze River terminal to enhance production and logistics coordination. Through flexible production scheduling, standardized manufacturing procedures, and efficient heavy-section transportation, Daming ensured stable delivery performance throughout the project.
