Welcomed by General Manager Xu Hezhou and the leadership team, including Deputy General Managers Huang Zhigao and Yan Jun, the Daming delegation toured Wanlong Shipbuilding’s state-of-the-art production facilities. The team gained first-hand insights into the shipyard’s construction workflows, advanced production technologies, and capacity planning.

As a specialized steel processor, Daming Heavy Industry provides high-quality marine steel plates, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and advanced alloy plates, which are essential for modern shipbuilding. Marine steel plates are the backbone of ship structures, determining strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and overall safety. By supplying precisely processed steel sections and prefabricated modules, Daming enables shipyards to streamline assembly, reduce material waste, and shorten construction timelines.

During the visit, General Manager Xu Hezhou highlighted the critical role of Daming’s capabilities in supporting Wanlong Shipbuilding’s projects. “Daming’s expertise in steel plate processing and prefabrication allows us to accelerate our construction schedules while maintaining high quality,” he said. “Their ‘one-stop’ solutions, covering material supply, processing, and logistics, are vital for improving production efficiency. Both parties can further enhance production capacity, optimize processes, and explore new avenues for technological innovation.”

Chairman Zhou Keming shared Daming Group’s vision for industrial collaboration, emphasizing its full-process manufacturing platforms and logistics resources. “Our advanced steel processing technologies and marine-grade material solutions can help shipyards optimize production, reduce costs, and enhance competitiveness,” Zhou explained. “We will continue to provide technological upgrades, cost optimization, and integrated support through equipment, manufacturing platforms, and logistics resources. By combining strengths, the two companies aim to create a fully integrated ‘materials-processing-construction’ ecosystem that will boost efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen competitiveness.”

The shipbuilding industry is increasingly reliant on integrated supply chain partnerships. Efficient steel processing, accurate prefabrication, and timely delivery of marine steel plates are critical for shipyards to meet growing demands for commercial vessels, naval ships, and offshore platforms. Daming’s capabilities in these areas provide a competitive edge to shipbuilders, enabling faster project turnaround, higher-quality output, and reduced production costs.

This visit underscores the complementary relationship between steel processors and shipbuilders. By leveraging Daming’s material expertise and Wanlong Shipbuilding’s construction capabilities, both companies are building a more efficient, collaborative, and innovative shipbuilding ecosystem. Through continued cooperation, Daming aims to contribute to the modernization of China’s shipbuilding industry while driving growth and value creation for its partners.
